Joe Works, owner of B&W Trailer Hitches, and his wife Janie have always aspired to serve others. “I think the desire to give back to the community,” says Joe, “came before B&W. I think that was just part of the way our family was built.”
And so when it came to their employees, Joe and Janie wanted to make sure they listened to their needs and wants, their hopes and dreams. When a company survey indicated that a fitness center was top of the list, they took action.
A 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art-facility was born. Engineers and architects tied the roots of B&W into the design, with exterior metal panels and awnings created right here on the Humboldt factory floor. But the open, modern, bright interior with soaring windows and spa-like locker rooms speaks to something different: an escape, a place to focus on health, wellness and inspiration.
Humboldt Fitness turned out to be too good to keep just for B&W employees. Three months after opening in March 2019, the facility became accessible to the whole community. We now have over 900 members. There’s nothing like this in southeast Kansas. And that makes it the perfect place for you.
